A Dream to Make the Desert Green Again
Meet Lahcen, the heart and hands behind FOM AFSAHEY.
My name is Lahcen, and I am 88 years old.
Thirty years ago, this land was nothing but dry soil and silence, no trees, no water, just rocks and dust. But I had a dream. Together with my brother, we started this farm from nothing. We dug, planted, prayed, and waited. Slowly, this place came to life.
I started with one water well, but it wasn't enough. So I dug a second one, still, not enough. Then I received a grant from the government to buy a solar pump so I could bring more water from underground. But I still need more batteries for it to work properly.
The land itself is tired. It needs care. It needs a tractor to help make it fertile again, to turn the soil and give life another chance.
Despite the challenges, I have not given up. Afsahey remains a place of hope and now, I invite you to be part of it.
Bring your own tree, plant it in this sacred soil, and watch it grow. Here in Afsahey, every tree carries meaning, and every act of giving earns حسنات (hasanat) ,blessings in this life and the next. This is my dream: to make the land green again, to restore its beauty, its spirit, and its purpose. Whether you contribute a tree, a battery, a tractor, or simply offer a heartfelt duʿāʾ (prayer), your support matters deeply.
Together, we can revive this land and pass on a legacy of growth and goodness.
Visitors are welcome to plant their tree, leave their mark, and join this living journey of renewal and reward.
Baraka Allah fikom.
With gratitude,
Lahcen
